What the Company Offers
Sojourners began in the early 1970’s at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. A group of students began to discuss the combination of faith and politics. In 1975, the group moved their organization to Washington, D.C. and adopted the name, Sojourners. They soon became active in social ministries through serving the surrounding community.
Their mission is “…to proclaim and practice the biblical call to integrate spiritual renewal and social justice.” They speak out on current issues and calls individuals to action. Upon their 20th anniversary in August 1991, Sojourners wrote their statement of faith.
Impact On People
Call to Renewal is the social action program of Sojourners. They promote after-school, food pantries, literacy, job training, and welfare-to-work programs.
Other Facts
Sojourners have encouraged forming circle groups to bring individuals together through positive discussions and local social action.
