The Door
by Arthur A

There was a man named Jesus,
He was knocking on my Hearts door,
Proclaiming, If you open I will come in,
I did not dare open this door,
For in my heart was sin, and this he does not adore,
Yet on my heart came this sound,
Ra-ta-tat-tat He knocked more and more,
When Finally to my door I crept,
Turned the knob and took a step. The Door stayed closed to my surprise.
I proclaimed in a loud strong voice,
My Lord help me so, this heavy old door will open no more.
Through the cracks in the door,
My Lord proclaimed, Try Again, for you have proclaimed.
I pulled the door and it opened so.

I asked the Lord, what have I proclaimed?
You said My Lord, He replied.
I fell to my knees weeping so,
And prayed the dearest prayer I’ll ever know.
To Heaven I’ll go, when time does come,
For My Lord above will one day come!
