Catechumen
Click here to learn more about the game's history: http://www.catechumen.com/catechumen.htm You can get the game for yourself by going to your local game dealers or by going to the website at http://www.awesomegame.com Christian games had a hard time making it in the main stream market. They just don't catch the eye like the titles "Unreal" or "Quake". The highly raved game titled "Captain Bible" for example, despite it's Christian content, Just isn't nearly as good. Personally, I'd much rather play the original "Need for Speed" racing game from 1997-98. Although, there is a Christian gaming company out there that looks like they will rock our world and get some attention of gamers everywhere, especially Christian gamers like me! I've seen a lot of Christian games before, but this is the first 1rst person Christian game I have ever seen! To those of you that thought "Captain Bible" was cool, "Catechumen" is definitely for you! This is the first Christian game I have seen ever that grabs my attention! In "Captain Bible", you had to collect verses to go on in the game. You also read verses in Catechumen except you read them to gain faith (otherwise known as health in other games). When your faith reaches zero, GAME OVER! You might be thinking
now, "How is it possible to make a Christian based game out of
a 1rst person shooter? The point is still to shoot people, right?"
Yes, that is true, however, unlike the games "Unreal" and
"Quake", they don't actually explode, or fly across the room,
or slam into walls, or get squished by heavy objects, or bleed, or....well,
you get the idea. Basically, you aren't killing in "Catechumen".
Instead of using sticks and stones, you gain a different sword in each
level that an angel gives to you. The first sword you use is called
the "Sword of the Spirit". This isn't any double edged razor
though. When a guard comes after you, you fire the "Sword of the
spirit" at them and they immediately drop to their knees and pray.
Hey, if only it was that easy in the real world, huh!?!
