Trinity FSG
By: Jessica

CS: What kind of equipment do you use?

Cisco: I use a Fernandes guitar, Line Six guitar pod, and Marshall combo amps.

Dan : Yamaha custom drums in Royal purple woodgrain stain, Zilgyan Cymbals, and Pro Mark sticks. For smaller coffee house shows I use a Roland electronic kit.

Tony : I've been using a Kubicki Ex Factor bass for about twelve years now. I also play an original Steinberger XL-2. In synth world I have a Yamaha V-50 and Roland XP-10.
A set of Fast Forward Design Bass Pedals and my amplification is by Peavey.

CS: What is the main focus of your ministry? Teens? The lost? The Hurting? Why did you decide on this focus?

Tony: All of the above. One of the revelations we had while out on the road last spring, was that our mission is to reveal how the enemy works, how much he hates us, ( Gods created people) and that there is hope for anyone who surrenders their life to Christ.

Dan: We want to offer a quality alternative to secular rock.

Cisco: Also, coming out of my motorcycle accident, It's just what I had a heart to do. ( In 1991, Francisco or " Cisco" was in a very serious motorcycle accident. During his lengthy recovery, he began to seek Jesus and gave his life to Him. He turned back on secular music and the " party lifestyle")

CS: What does your groups name mean?

Tony: The Trinity is the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I was raised Catholic so the theme three in one and the awesomeness of God being able to excist as three and one is
something I grew up with.

CS: Where did you come up with it?

Tony: Trinity was the name of one of my old bands. We put the name Trinity into the world wide web search and got back about a million sites. We realized we needed something to distinquish us from all the Trinity colleges, churches, etc. So we Added FSG, ( Father, Son, and Ghost.)

CS: Where do you see the band in five years? Ten? The future?

Cisco: I'd like to see bigger stage productions in our live shows.

Dan: Playing bigger venues and playing in Europe.

Tony: I'd like to continue putting out Cd's only with a wider fanbase.

CS: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change your group?

Cisco: No. At my age I'm really rooted in the Lord and I don't see myself changing.

Dan: No, because we are very careful to keep God first in all things.

Tony: Yes I do, I would hope that no matter how well known we become that I would remember that all success is ultimately from God and the doors He opens.

CS: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do you fellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as a performer?

Tony: We try to meet as many of them as possible. We also love to correspond via E-mail.

Dan: We fellowship, try to shake hands, and meet them one on one when time permits.

Cisco: I am all for meeting with them again, when time permits.

CS: How would you describe your music?

Cisco: American rock influenced by many different styles.

Dan: I think its very versitile. We incoroporate different styles and try to sound different from song to song. And with three different vocalists and writing styles it gives us a diverse sound.

Tony: Its been referred to as retro, but I see it as kind of a " melting pot." Our songs differ from one to the other. One may have a funk feel or reggae but the common factor in them all is classic hard rock.

CS: Who or what are your biggest influences?

Cisco: Jimmy Page, Mark Farner from Grand Funk Railroad, Eddie Van Halen, Brian May. Vocally, Neil Diamond and Robert Plant.

Dan: John Bonham from Zepplin, Don Brewer of Grand Funk Railroad and Ginger Baker of Cream and Mitch Mitchell from Jimi Hendrix.

Tony: Geddy Lee from Rush, John Entwhistle from The Who, Stuart Hamm and I'm also very into Sting and The Police.

CS: Are you involved in any other ministries?

Tony: I am a member of a community called " Walk To Emmaus." A bi-yearly retreat type weekend.

Cisco: I record free demos for young Christian artists at my studio. I offer that up.

Dan: I have a cell group at my church, Love Of Christ Charismatic Church in Delaware.

CS: How much time do you spend practicing as a group?
How much time do you spend practicing individually?

Dan: Twice a week as a band, and I practice twice a week at home.

Cisco: Everyday!!!!

Tony: Individually- whenever possible.

CS: Does the group come together for prayer at times other than concerts and ministry opporitunities?

Tony: We try to get together at least twice a month for band meetings. We always open practice and meetings with prayer. Sometimes we get into these great discussions over bible verses or teachings we heard in church. Sometimes we
get so into it, we forget to have our meetings!

CS: Have you always had a desire to be in a group like this?

Tony: Absolutly! This band is answered prayer!

Cisco: No, I just let God lead me to where I am now.

Dan: Yes. Ever since I was a kid my mom would ask, " Why don't you get into a good Christian band?" For me it was a matter of finding Christian musicians who could rock!

CS: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD's to be released soon?

Tony: We are currently in the studio working on our follow up to " The Valley Of Dry Bones." The new CD will be called, " A New Day." and we are hoping to release it in late spring or early summer.

CS: What is the weirdest thing that ever happened at one of your concerts?

Tony: We were playing at a coffee house in Philly and during a break my basses fell by themselves like dominos. When I picked them back up nothing was broken or even scratched.

Dan: At another show in Philly the drum kit all the bands were using fell apart in mid song.

Cisco: Seems like every time we have to unload the equipment and its raining, the rain stops in time for us to unload. We've been blessed.

CS: What as a band could you not live without?

Cisco: The sustainer on my guitar, GPS (laughs) we use it on my laptop when we tour. And lots of deodorant!

Dan: Jesus Christ.

Tony: A sense of humor!

CS: What are your favorite bible verses?

Dan: Psalm 23, 27, 103, Isaiah 43, and Mark 7 verse 24 to 30.

Cisco: Colossians 1 verse 12-20

Tony: Isaiah 43, An excellent example of how God views each of us.

CS: Do you have any advice for the youth of today?

Dan: Don't get discouraged, don't stop praying, and don't let the enemy separate you from your dreams. Always put Christ first in your heart and the rest will follow.

Cisco: Be very aware of what secular radio stations are telling you is important thru the music they are playing.

Tony: Seek a true RELATIONSHIP with Jesus. Things like relationships, peer pressure etc would have been alot easier to deal with if I had known Jesus better when I was younger. The answer to every problem is found in the Word.

CS: What people have influenced you? (non-musician)

Dan: Jesus. He changed me from the person I was to the person I am.

Cisco: My father and mother. Their strength coming from Puerto Rico and starting a whole new life.

Tony: Max Lucado, his books are awesome!

CS: What's one tv show you can't live without?

Cisco: The classics, I Dream Of Jeanie, Gilligans Island, and of course the Stooges!

Dan: There's really now tv show I couldn't live without! ( laughs)

Tony: The Simpsons!
