Tammy Trent
TT: I can tell you of the unforgettable story of my eighteen-year relationship with Trent Lenderink, my high school sweetheart and, later, my husband. We had a bit of a storybook marriage as we worked together to build my musical career. Music was the focus of our lives and ministry. Suddenly the whole world was turned upside down. Alone, overwhelmed, and far from home, I found a lifeline of hope connecting me to God's enduring love and incomprehensible strength. Getting up every morning is the real testimony. I'm watching the Lord put my life back together again day by day. CS: As a child what was your childhood dream career? Is is coming to life? TT: I think I always wanted to sing and dance and play the drums.Although I can't do all three at the same time (smile) I sure do love that they're all apart of my life and ministry today. CS: How long have you been a Christian? TT: My whole life, but it was at the age of 13 when I really dedicated my life to Jesus. I think that's when I really understood what it meant to have a personal relationship with Him. CS: What is the main focus in your ministry? TT: I love encouraging believers where they're at and challenging the lost to keep searching for truth. My main focus is probably just being myself in hopes that others will see a real God through me. I have a heart for Women's Ministries. Probably because that's where my life is too. CS: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change you? TT: Not at all. I'm right where I want to be and I'm soooo complete in it and very fulfilled. CS: What are some things you like about your career? TT: I love the people and the traveling. New faces and new places keep it interesting and fun. CS: Do you write your own music? Where do you get ideas for your music? TT: I usually write with friends and the songs come from life's experiences that we ALL go through. CS: Do you find it strange to hear yourself singing on the radio or to see yourself in a video? TT: I smile every time. It never gets old. It's just a sweet reminder of all the hard work and the fact that the Lord has truly chosen me to make a difference in the lives of others through mine and my music. CS: Any plans to sign with a major Label in the near future? TT: I have no desire to sign with a label at this time. Been there. Done that. And it was a gift in my life at the time, but I love where I'm at today. CS: Who, or what, are your biggest musical influences? TT: Amy Grant CS: If you were stranded on an island and could only have five things, what would they be? TT: A guitar, my bible, vegetable garden, water tank, and my best friend.(laughing) CS: Are you involved in any other ministries? TT: I sure am. Life itself! What a ministry that is!!!! |
