Salvador CS: What does your groups name mean, Where did you come up with it? “Salvador” is Spanish for “Savior” --- We figured who better to work for than God our Savior CS: How long have you all been together? 2 1/2 years as the group you see today (7 piece), 11 years as Praise and Worship Band. CS: Please share with us how your group formed and any changes it went through after forming. Began 11 years ago in parent’s church. We led Praise and Worship as a 3-piece band (Nic, Art and Josh - 2 brothers and cousin). We added a percussionist and keyboardist to the group about 4 years ago and then added the horn section 2 and half years ago. CS: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? The hurting? One of our main focus’ of our Ministry is to share with EVERYONE the goodness that God has to offer - no matter what race, age or religious background you are - EVERYONE. CS: Do you make it a goal to use your music to minister to people? Always. CS: How would you describe your music style? Our style is a mixture of Funk, Soul with a heavy Latin Flavor. CS: What is the biggest thing you have learned from performing and ministering through music? No matter how many times a person has seen us perform live or on TV, our music always seems to touch them spiritually. We give all Glory and Honor to GOD for this. CS: Where do you get ideas for your music, What is the message you are trying to get across with your music? We gather many ideas from our experiences of being on the road constantly. The people that we meet share their personal stories of their walks as Christians. Our message is pretty simple, It’s ok to get up and sing and dance praises to the Lord our God. Don’t ever be embarrassed to show and share your beliefs. CS: Who, aside from Jesus, has been the biggest influence in your life? Our Parents. CS: What is the most inspirational piece of scripture that you have found that applies to your life? There’s many different things that inspire us on a day to day basis, one would be a scripture taken from Psalms 116 chapters 1 and 2 - it says, “I love the Lord because he hears my prayers and answers them. Because he bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!” -- Isn’t it a great feeling to know that when you need God he’s ALWAYS there by your side, no matter what. It doesn’t matter how you pray, just as long as you talk to HIM, HE will always answer. CS: Please share a short testimony about what God has done during one of your concerts. One memorable show we had was in Honduras with Franklin Graham for a crusade. We took the stage in front of 90,000 people and started playing some very old Spanish praise and worship song. It didn’t take long, but soon the stadium filled up with thousands and thousands of voices singing along. We know that we were just a very small part of what GOD was doing that night and it touched us very deeply. CS: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD's to be released soon? We’re continuing to hit the road strong this year (2003) and share as much as we can with as many as we can. We’re also looking forward to releasing our first LATIN-ONLY CD. We’ll be making that announcement soon. CS: And finally the last & final question is this: What advice can you give to the youth of our world? Don’t be embarrassed and don’t be afraid to express yourself. It’s FUN to be a Christian! |
