Jeriko
by Jessica

CS: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? The hurting? Why did you decide up on this as a focus?

J: Our Focus is mainly the lost and also the Saved too. We feel convicted to reach out to the world with the gospel. It is our duty as christians to spread the gospel "the great commission". There is so much hurt in the world. It is our responisibility to fill the needs of the hurting and lost.

CS: What does your groups name mean?

J: Jeriko is basicly Jeremy and Erika formed together. Just the walls of Jericho the walls of sin will fall in our lives.

CS: Where did you come up with it?

J: Actually ,Guitarist Jeremy came up with the idea while reading the bible one day.

CS: Where do you see the band in five years? Ten? The future?

J: We see us still pursuing our goals and convictions as christians in a lost world. Our duty is not alone to make music.

CS: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change your group?

J: I don't see Jeriko getting lost in that realm of unhappiness. Theres so many bands that do. Earlier this summer we went to a christians bands concert, a successfull one. I don't want to name names. They were serving liquour in the venue. Not cool.

CS: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do you fellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as the performer?

J: Usually we fellowship with our audiences . Like I said in earlier questions it is our duty to witness.

CS: How would you describe your music style?

J: A blend of Hard Rock, Contemporary and maybe a hint of country.

CS: Who, or what, are your biggest musical influences?

J: Jennifer Knapp, Third day, maybe some Elvis, Cat Stevens, Nirvana to name a few

CS: Are you involved in any other ministries?

J: We are involved in a Sunday Night worship service at our chruch.

CS: How much time do you spend practicing as a group? How much time do you practice individually?

J: Once a week, Various by ourselves

CS: Does the group come together for prayer at times other than concerts and ministry opportunities?

J: Sure

CS: Have you always had a desire to be in a group like this?

J: Both of us have been in past bands. We've always had a desire.

CS: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD's to be released soon?

J: Actually we will be recording an EP with Producer Barry Blair this month.

CS: What's the weirdest thing that's ever happened at one of your concerts?

J: One time a crazy lady came in with a shaved head. And started dancing weirdly.

CS: What's a band could you not live without?

J: Jennifer Knapp

CS: What are your favorite bible verses?

J: Isaiah 53

CS: Do you have any advice for the youth of today?
