F.O.G. Rocks CS: How did your group form? Did you start out together or did you pick up players along the way? FR: We got together at church strictly for fun and to play the style of music we enjoyed. We started out together although we have lost one guitarist and have not replaced him and have changed bass players finally finding one we really enjoyed working with. CS: How long have you all been together? How long has the group been in existence, not counting any possible changes in members? FR: We have been together for five years and the group has been existence equally as long. CS: How has this affected the group? Did it take awhile to bond? What kind of relationship do you all have now? FR: Being in a band is often like being in a marriage. Its not always a bed of roses but is definitely worth the effort. The bond seemed to come quite quickly probably due too the like interests in music. CS: What kind of equipment do you use? FR: Kustom amps, shure microphones, ludwig/zildian, fender bass gear, behringer pa etc CS: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? The hurting? Why did you decide up on this as a focus? FR: It seems that GOD has directed us to focus on bikers(i.e. the lost/the hurting) and has led us into some pretty intense situations where most church goers would fear to tread. We also have a blast playing at church youth groups and for Sunday AM worship. We really feel that GOD decided the focus cuz when we started the band we didn't even have intentions on playing out, recording or whatever wejust wanted to hang at church and play music we liked. CS: What does your groups name mean? FR: It originally meant Five Old Guys but due too our guitarist leaving we've changed it to Four Old Guys ;-) CS: Where did you come up with it? FR: Look at us...;-) CS: Where do you see the band in five years? Ten? The future? FR: We never expected to look at the last five years and see things such as three discs recorded, missions trip as a band to Lithuania, great success in our biker outreach and a return request to Lithuania for their annual Biker festival. So for the next five we could plan but we've learned to let GOD take us anywhere HE wants. CS: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change your group? FR: Nah, we're all grounded in both The Word and our local church. One of us is actually one of five Pastors in our local church so we realize fame is lame but GOD is real! CS: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do you fellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as the performer? FR: We love to fellowship with them and stay as involved as they will allow. We keep up with prayer requests etc. and just try to be there as GOD's reps CS: How would you describe your music style? FR: Classic Rock/Heavy Metal in the genre of Black Sabbath CS: Who, or what, are your biggest musical influences? FR: Secular would be Sabbath, Zeppelin, Robin Trower, Rush and Christian would be Glenn Kaiser, Michael Pritzl from The Violet Burning, Daniel Amos and Bride CS: Are you involved in any other ministries? FR: Absolutely. Clothes Closet at our local church, the drummer is part of our churches stock car ministry, the bass player is currently working with another group that is planning to go on a short term missions trip to Thailand and the singer is one of our local pastors. CS: How much time do you spend practicing as a group? How much time do you practice individually? FR: Daily as individuals and once a week as a group. CS: Does the group come together for prayer at times other than concerts and ministry opportunities? FR: Regularly CS: Have you always had a desire to be in a group like this? FR: Not all of us but at least two of us have CS: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD's to be released soon? FR: We just released a CD titled "Broken" and we're desperately trying to promote it but as an independent band that is not always an easy thing to do. It can be found at towerrecords.com, cdbaby.com etc..
