1340mag: Ok let's get this party started.... First of all, state your name.
Dirt: Jeremy AKA Dirt
1340mag: YOUR FULL NAME!!!
Dirt: Jeremy J. H. AKA Dirt
1340mag: That's better. For those of us who don't know exactly who you are and what you do? .....Give us a little background....how long have you been in the hip- hop scene?
Dirt: Well....I'm a emcee, who grew up in the hip-hop culture. In a way, I been in the 'scene' all my life. Hip-hop is my blood. It is my founding culture. I was in elementary school....Bboxing on the playground, sayin dorky kiddy rhymes, break dancin on broken up cardboard boxes.... but I been doin this stuff more 'professional' like for about 7 years now.
1340mag: Where did you get the name "Dirt"?
Dirt: I dont take showers..... jus' kidding.....I wanted to pick a name that represented humility. In the Bible...when people were repentant (humble)before God, they would call out to God and rub dirt on themselves (to represent their humilty)
1340mag: Explain the name "shadow of the locust" (unless you already did in the last questions...) :)
Dirt: Read Joel chapter 2.... and go to http://www.locustfist.com and read the 'locust papri'. Its a long explanation....a deep one..... I'd rathe not rush it here.
1340mag: I hear you're currently on tour . :o) How's that going? Who are you touring with?
Dirt: When this tour is over....I will have lived in a vehicle for 2.5 months..... very stressful....and the other guys in the car stink....more than me! But people are very receptive to the shows...and I am constantly being encouraged by fans and friends while i'm out. I can MOST DEFINATELY see God working...even thru the stress. (I'm on tour by myself...but I play w/ local bands)
1340mag: I also understand you used to tour with P.O.D., what was that like? Any funny, rediculous, or amazing stories from those times?
Dirt: Those boys are the best..... My favorite tour was with them and NIV (no innocent victim). It was that tour that I saw how people can love God and still be 'real'. Sonny especially....and Jason from NIV...those 2 guys are 2 of the most 'down to earth' guys I've been around. They were definately examples to me...and still are. And the fact that their band members are as awesome to be with too....it was good for me.
1340mag: Still keep in touch with P.O.D. lately?
Dirt: Nope......they got hecka busy!!!!
1340mag: What other artists have you worked with in the past?

1340mag: When's the new album due out and how can we all get our hands on it?

1340mag: What special guests are on the new album and how did you like recording in Dansville, NY with Jesse Sprinkle and the guys?
Dirt: Goldenchild, Messenger, 7lock, Epsilon, Faze, the World Inside, Roldan, and Optimus Rhyme are some of the guests......Spending time with Jesse and his family was probably the best part of the new album. I went out there with not enuff for an album....but the ceativity in the studio was off the chart!!!!
1340mag: Any memorable moments from recording in dansville (besides almost hitting many many deer!)
Dirt: .....first time I shot a gun....Jesse's mom n' dad took me out back of their cabin and we shot rifles at targets in their yard... kinda scary..... and it was funny to get kicked out of the school campus we visited (I don't think it had anything to do with the fact that I was playin' around with the light system while people were tryin to practice in the auditorium)
1340mag: What do you do when you're not making music? (besides listening to music...)
Dirt: Taking care of my family is number one...even before music.....then I sleep
1340mag: Welp, I'm all out of questions.....anything you'd like to add?
Dirt: Cheese almost killed 2 deers....and he hates rap.
