Amanda's Fountain Drop
by Trisha Bleau
CS: Why music? Why not some other ministry? What is it about music that you feel led into this ministry?
AFD: God put it in us to rock. It's not our choice... it's just what we do.
CS: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? The hurting? Why did you decide up on this as a focus?
AFD: I feel our focus is to write music that's good and write lyrics that actually pertain to life. we don't necessarily have a target group. If people like our music and come to our shows that's our target group. we're not the kind of band who uses bait and switch to minister to people. we play rock and roll music for people's entertainment and use our lives to minister. We're not employed by God by being in a band; we are empowered by God to do what we do so that we might cross paths with people who are looking for something that we can help them find. I think that's the way Jesus did it and that's good enough for me.
CS: What does your groups name mean? Where did you come up with it?
AFD: It doesn't mean anything. It's a name we thought would be catchy.
CS: Where do you see the band in five years? Ten? The future?
AFD: I hope on MTV and all over the world.
CS: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change your group?
AFD: Nope. If that's what the future is to be then we'll deal with it then I don't speculate change for the worse.
CS: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do you fellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as the performer?
AFD: Well if you mean that we hang out with and talk with people at our shows, yes. But that also is dependant on our moods. Sometimes we just don't want to talk or just want to go home.
CS: What is the message you are trying to get across with your music?
AFD: Relationships are trouble.
CS: Where do you get ideas for your music?
AFD: Hugo writes from experiance mostly.
CS: How would you describe your music style?
AFD: Pop rock.
CS: Do you ever get criticized for your lyrics?
AFD: I don't think so.
CS: Who are some of the groups you have performed with and what did you think of them?
AFD: We haven't played with anyone to mention.
CS: Are you involved in your own home churches? What role do you have there?
AFD: We all have a part in our churches; mostly music ministry.
CS: Are you involved in any other ministries?
AFD: yes.
CS: What is your musical background? Did you take lessons to gain the musical skills you have now?
AFD: We all learned the rock and roll way. (by ourselves)
CS: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD's to be released soon?
AFD: Our bassist Monica is leaving in September to go to bible school. We will probably be recording a new Ep soon.
CS: If you could ask Jesus any one question, what would you ask and why?
AFD: Why?
CS: Do you have any advice to give to the youth of our world?
AFD: Don't let anyone tell you what God wants for your life. That's between you and him. Don't let anyone dictate religion to you. Realize you'll always feel like you're failing but that's ok because it's not about your failure. Most people give up because they get tired of trying to be perfect... you will NEVER be. Don't look at those around you there as miserable as you are you just can't see it. It's not on you it's on Jesus, that's why he died, don't make it for nothing. Think for yourself.
