Encouragement For the Lost Creative Soul
Eric Copeland

Every wonder what God is doing in your life?

Why would he give me the ability to do this awesome thing like sing, write, paint, dance, plan, decorate, or create if He didn't show me how to use it?

Or maybe He has shown you glimpses, but you feel like there should be more?

It's time to step back.

In this world of results and goal-setting, we place the yoke of importance on the wrong things. Unrealistic expectations can be a silent tool of the devil to make us feel like we are failures. That no matter what we do, we will never be as good as that multi-platinum artist, that person that's better than us on the praise team, or a person at work or school who can do anything with ease.

Inside each of you is something very special; you are God's unique tool. He made you with a plan in mind that does not match someone else's plan, or version of success.

There is something unique in what you are working on right now, plan to work on, or that you just created. That work will touch someone in a deep and meanigful way. Maybe it will be one person whose life is changed forever.

The music you make, art you create, impression you have from the stage, or difference you make in just one person's life is God's way.
That mysterious way He has of taking your talent, and finding a way to change the world, or just someone's world.

We have to hold fast to that! We are created to create by the Creator, and He knows what He's doing!

Don't give up this week. Instead, turn your eyes up, and realize God made you especially to be exactly who you are.

"That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are quite small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us an immeasurably great glory that will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now; rather, we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever." 2 Cor. 4:16-18
